Amazing Adventure in Barot valley
Barot Valley is full of natural elegance and resources. The place is situated in Mandi district as well as in Kangra. This valley resides in the Mandi district at an altitude of about 6000 feet above sea level. It is no less than a heaven for trekking admirers, and It is situated 66 km from Mandi and 40 km from Jogindernagar. Travelers can visit Barot valley at any time of year because the weather is charming neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter. But there is the best time also to visit this place in summer and winter. You can visit there between April to June and in winter from December to February. During winter the valley is covered with snow. Sometimes transportation also stopped due to heavy snowfall. There are so many places to visit and you can do some Adventure in Barot Valley.
Uhl River
This is the longest river in the region. It provides electricity to Punjab and irrigates the field of the lower Mandi region. The water of this river is stored in a dam in Barot. Many of you are aware of the name of Trout fish. If No, Then we can tell you about this. This is the only river in Himachal where you can find that special fish. You can go fishing there also. Riverside is always a peaceful place our souls can relax. If you visit there early in the morning you can hear the birds talking to each other, and cows are grazing in the field. this shows the real beauty of the village. that we are forgetting.
Chuhar Valley
This is a part of Barot village and is located in the Mandi district. There are other major attractions along with this valley including Jhankari village and Harung Narayan Temple. You can go trekking to these villages. You all are aware of the Shivaratri festival Mandi is the district where Shivratri is celebrated with great interest with old rituals by the locals.
Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary is located on the banks of the Uhl river. This sanctuary is covered with alpine trees and is home to Goral, Blak bear of the Himalayas, and a variety of partridge and other wild animals. There are too many routes through the woods to this sanctuary. The sanctuary is also connected by road.
Trekking Barot Valley
Paradise of trekkers is also called Barot valley. So there are too many locations where you can go trekking. Nearby treks are Kothi Kullu, Chuhar valley, Barot to Bada gran trek, Rajgundha trek and Billing take-off site trek by Rajgundha.
Camping Barot Valley
Camping alongside the bank of river Uhl is a marvelous experience. there is another location where you can go camping. It’s not far away from the local market. There are more camping destinations when you go forward to Bada gran. You can do paragliding also in Nalhota village. it is near Bada gran.
