Dehnasar lake trek is one of the best places to trek in Himachal Pradesh. To trek on this place, your fitness levels need to be high. Dehnasar Lake Trek – A Trek Through Almighty Mountain Peaks and Vestal Woods of Barot Valley
Like other lakes in Himachal, it also holds religious importance. As per the ancient recognition Goddess, Parvati came to this lake to take bath in the month of Bhadrapada. If you visit Dehnsar at that time then you can find lots of pilgrims there, on the 20th of Bhadrapada month(during the last week of August or the first week of September). So many pilgrimages take bath in this lake during this month to fulfill their wishes. It is a freshwater lake formed with the melted water of glaciers.
The height of this lake is 14,000ft(4,280mtr) from sea level. The lake is situated between the rocky cliff at the top of the mountains. Trek to this place starts from Polang village. because it is the last village connected with the road. And to reach poling you need to take a bus from Joginder Nagar to Lohardi village. Or you can visit here in your personal car as well as can hire a taxi.
From Polang it is a 14 km trek through woods and steep mountains. That’s why you need a good level of fitness. This trek generally needs 3 days to complete. But if you are good enough at trekking then you can complete it in two days also. During this trek, you need to carry food, water bottles, and tents along with you as per your need. Because there are no shops and other commercial stays.

Above the height of approx 3500mtr. there is no vegetation so you also need to carry wood along with you. But you don’t need much worry about water because there are some small water streams also to refill your water bottles. In this trek, you will enjoy the scenic view of the great Himalayas and the woods of cedar and other local vegetations.
July to September is the best time to visit this place. And these are the month when you will find pilgrims there, and you can find temporary accommodations there at that time.
